Chris Byrd is a perfect example of, "old fighters don't leave gracefully, they get beaten into retirement".

Chris, PLEASE get out of the game before you are seriously injured. You have lasted through a career of heavyweight fights, thru your defensive skills and escapism. You have nothing else to prove.
Be a great husband and dad, for many many more years -- keep your health by getting out before you are seriously hurt.

Chris, PLEASE get out of the game. Your superior defensive skills and escapism got you through years of heavyweight fights, and many razor-thin decisions against bigger, stronger, more offensive-minded fighters.
Take that newly sculpted physique, and do something else with your life. Your commendable career as a boxer needs no further justification. Go into acting, become a color commentator, or spokesman for the sport. Be the great husband and dad you are for many, many more years. But get out of the game now, before you get seriously hurt.

Chris Byrd really should quit boxing at this point. He was a very good fighter in his day ... but his day is obviously over after his performance last night. Why he didn't pick an easier fight to start his quest of that division is beyond me. The guy was far too fast and far too accurate of a puncher for Chris at this point.
Retire in peace, Chris ... before you really get hurt by another quick young boxer with power in both hands.
